Tonight, my childhood hero, Michael Jordan, will be inducted into the basketball hall of fame. I was clearly spoiled growing up with Jordan leading the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships. It's hard to believe it has been more than 11 years since the Bulls won their last title and Jordan left the team. I am hardly an NBA fan anymore, but I still look back at the 1990s in the NBA as being as good as any sport was in their Golden Age.
The video below is my favorite Jordan memory. With the 1997 NBA Finals tied at two, Jordan came down with some pretty bad food poisoning before Game 5 in Utah. Instead of mentally checking out of the game, Jordan had perhaps the most clutch performance of his career. I'll always remember the image of Scottie Pippen basically carrying Jordan off the court after he hit the decisive three pointer in the final seconds. There are many other moments that I cherish as well, but this is numero uno!
